Manukau Heads Lighthouse visit - A Nightmare

It was a day in the winter. Me and my wife decided to go for a drive. Since our toddler was around a year old, we decided to go to a place which we can reach in an hour. Two places came into our mind. We live in Auckland and Manukau heads lighthouse and Hamilton Gardens were the choice. The return traffic from Hamilton was not so good so we decided to go to Manukau Heads Lighthouse.

We reached there in about 75 minutes. We have to climb up the hill to be able to see the Lighthouse. The Pram cannot be taken up to the hill, so we decided to carry our toddler. The place was very nice but windy though. The view of the natural harbor, view of the sea from lighthouse and the viewpoint was spectacular. My son enjoyed playing there on the little platform below the lighthouse. After a while he started crying, So, to pacify him we tried our best. WE gave the car key and he played with it, and he was quiet for a while. We enjoyed the spot and came down to the car park.

We tried to open the car, but the alarm didn't function. It's an aftermarket alarm and since our toddler played with it, some malfunction happened. So, we couldn't open the car. The wind was gusting, and we were the only one left finally in that remote. We called 111 but since it's not a dangerous situation they said the police couldn't come instead they provided roadside assistance contact details. It was getting dark and since time was ticking, we called the roadside assistance. He came swiftly like a Saviour and helped us by bypassing the car alarm.

It was a bitter experience for us going there.
