Vellore is a town turned into a city recently, which is located in the northern part of Tamilnadu.Tamilnadu is located in south india.Vellore is famous for its historic revolt against british which happened in the year 1857

Regarding tourism in and around vellore you have some 5 to 6 spots which will be useful and entertaining for you. some of the major tourism spots in vellore are

1. Golden temple

2. Vellore fort

3. Amirthi forest.

Golden temple in sripuram

Sripuram Golden temple is located in a place called thirumalaikkodi near vellore. It is also called as lakshmi narayani golden temple.It is situated in an area of 100 acres. To visit the temple you have to walk in a star shaped path. The work done in the golden carvings in the temple is really appreciable. It is constructed by OM SAKTHI NARAYANI SIDDAR PEEDAM CHARITABLE TRUST.

The entry timing for the Golden temple , sripuram is 8am to 8 pm.

Proper dress code should be followed to visit the golden temple .

For Ladies nighties,sleeveless,3/4 not allowed.

For gents lungies,3/4 are not allowed.

Vellore fort which was built during 16th century is a nice place to visit.

Some good monuments present inside the fort are the

St.John's church

It is as old as the fort and it has a very nice sculptures inside it. It has a 100 pillar hall inside it.

The horse shaped Sculpture is one of the most noticeable one,shown below

Also one of the appreciable work which is present there is the OX - ELEPHANT sculpture.

If you try to hide one animal sculpture with your hand means you can be able to get the view of the another animal

Boating facility is also available in vellore fort.

I you take a statue named bhairava the same statue how it has been made during the 12th and during the 17th century is visible there

Amirthi

Amirthi is a place which is located near vellore at about 25 km. To reach amirthi you have take a route which goes to tiruvannamalai and after reaching kaniyambadi take right and reach amirthi.
